Life does not always go as planned.

There are stressful days, unexpected changes, difficult moments, and times when we simply feel overwhelmed. Resilience is often described as the ability to cope with these challenges, but it can also be understood as something we continue to build through the way we care for ourselves.

Recently, Dr. Krisnawan, shared his perspective on this topic during a talk at Usada Bali, Beyond Coping: How to Build Resilience to Thrive Despite Life’s Challenges. You can read the original documentation of the talk on : https://usadabali.com/cultivating-resilience-as-daily-practice/

The discussion explored a simple question: if resilience can be developed, what can we do in our everyday lives to support it?

What Does Resilience Really Mean?

Being resilient does not mean being strong all the time or never feeling stressed.

We can still experience worry, disappointment, tiredness, and difficult emotions. Resilience is more about developing the capacity to recognise what we are going through, recover when needed, and adapt as life changes.

We explored this idea in more detail in Beyond Coping: Building Resilience Through Integrated Wellness.

But understanding resilience is only the beginning. The way we live each day can also influence how we respond to life's challenges.

Start With the Simple Things

Resilience does not always require a major lifestyle change.

Getting enough rest, eating well, staying active, taking breaks, and maintaining meaningful relationships can all support our overall wellbeing.

Movement can also help when we feel mentally stuck. A walk, stretch, or exercise can bring our attention back to the body instead of allowing our thoughts to keep going in circles.

The goal is not to create a perfect wellness routine. It is to find simple habits that are realistic enough to maintain.

Take a Moment to Breathe

Breathing is something we do all day, but we often pay little attention to it.

When we are stressed or under pressure, our breathing can change without us noticing. Slowing down and becoming more aware of the breath can create a small pause in the middle of a busy day.

Abdominal breathing was one of the simple practices discussed during Dr. Krisnawan's talk. It can be practised almost anywhere and does not require a complicated routine.

For those interested in Pranic Healing, conscious breathing can also be part of developing greater awareness of the body's energy.

Sometimes, simply taking a few mindful breaths can help us slow down and check in with ourselves.

Small Habits Shape Our Inner Wellbeing

Resilience is also influenced by where we place our attention.

Practising gratitude can help us notice the people, experiences, and small moments that continue to bring meaning to our lives, even when things are difficult.

Journalling can offer another way to create space for our thoughts. Writing things down can help us step back and understand what we are experiencing rather than allowing thoughts to continuously circle in our minds.

These practices are simple. Their value often comes from doing them consistently.

Looking Beyond the Physical Body

Wellness is more than physical health.

Our emotions, thoughts, environment, and daily experiences can all influence how we feel. This broader view is also where the idea of energy hygiene comes into the conversation.

From the perspective of Pranic Healing, energy is another aspect of wellbeing that can be cared for through practices such as conscious breathing, awareness, and healthier emotional and environmental habits.

You can explore this topic further in Beyond Physical Health: Understanding Energy Hygiene.

At UbudCare Wellness, Pranic Healing is offered as a complementary wellness practice, not as a replacement for medical care. Appropriate medical support remains important, particularly for people with existing health concerns or ongoing treatment.

Be Kind to Yourself

Resilience is also about how we respond to ourselves when things do not go well.

It is easy to judge ourselves for our mistakes or difficult emotions. Self-compassion gives us room to recognise what we are experiencing without allowing it to completely define us.

There is a subtle difference between saying, “I am anxious,” and “I am feeling anxious.”

The second reminds us that an emotion is something we are experiencing, not necessarily who we are.

That small shift can create space to understand our emotions rather than becoming completely overwhelmed by them.

Wellness Is Personal

There is no single formula for building resilience.

For some, it may begin with better sleep and regular movement. For others, it may include breathing practices, spending time outdoors, journalling, or exploring complementary approaches such as Pranic Healing.

Resilience Is a Daily Practice

We cannot control everything that happens in life. There will always be change, uncertainty, and difficult moments.

But we can build habits that help us take better care of ourselves along the way.

Rest when the body needs it. Move when the mind feels stuck. Take a breath when everything feels too fast. Make time for the things and people that matter. And give yourself space to recover.

None of these practices is a quick fix. Together, they can become part of a healthier daily rhythm.

For us at UbudCare Wellness, daily wellness is not about creating a life without challenges. It is about developing healthier ways to move through them.

Because resilience is not a destination.

It is something we continue to build, one day at a time.
